In Due Order

Posted on 20 August 2009 by Jim Atwood

In Due Order shows the endless lineup of lanterns strung along the grounds of Zenkoji Temple in Nagano City Japan. With all of these lanterns, I found it fun to work with perspective rather than to shoot head on. I often do this when encountering multiple subjects. On this particular day it was rather windy and I also was able to take some shots of the lanterns moving out of line. That made for some cools shots too.

The Sponsor Japan

Posted on 15 August 2009 by Jim Atwood

This was a sponsor banner located high up underneath the roof of a prominent temple in Zenkoji, Nagano City Japan. I particularly like the glow of the wood against the nice white scroll.

Split Ends Japan

Posted on 24 July 2009 by Jim Atwood

This looks like a sword on the left is spliting the stem in two. I’m a big fan of green and I thought this had some nice shades of green. The lines and "peach fuzz" on the stem are added textures that I liked.
